Helicopter Pilot Gets Shot in the Face, Keeps Flying

This happened quite some time ago, but wow.  This isn’t something you see everyday.  There was a camera crew on board (which remained extremely calm under fire), that caught the whole thing on film.  This pilot and his crew were under extreme pressure and under fire while escorting six wounded soldiers back home.  This pilot showed tremendous courage and skill during this whole ordeal and because of his actions got his entire crew back to base safely.

The helicopter ended up taking 8 hits and damaged quite a bit of the helicopter systems in the process.  This isn’t something you see or hear about every day but it truly shows what our men and women in uniform go through in combat to keep our freedoms back home alive.  A big salute to the pilot.
